Seven Decades of World History at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum

April 02, 2018

The longest-lived of any President of the United States, George Herbert Walker Bush has led a pretty fascinating life. Born and raised in Massachusetts, he flew as an aviator in the Navy during WWII, graduated from Yale University, and made millions as a Texas oil man. That was all before age 40. He then served as U.S. Congressman from Texas, Ambassador to the U.N., Director of the C.I.A., Vice President, and, of course, President of the United States. The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, a short 10-minute drive from our hotel, offers a unique opportunity for visitors of all political persuasions to learn more about the people and events that have shaped global affairs in the 20th and 21st centuries. Seven decades of world history are told through photos, films, letters, music, interactive installations, and more, all related to the life and legacy of the president whose administration witnessed the Tiananmen Square Massacre, the reunification of Germany, and the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
