Things To Do In Bryan, TX

First Fridays in Downtown Bryan

November 09, 2017

In 1867 the Houston and Texas Central Railroad was finally extended to Bryan, making our sleepy town a new hub in the modernizing American landscape. Over a century-and-a-half later, Bryan has established itself as a vibrant pocket of authenticity amid an ever more homogenized and corporatized world. Our downtown, one of the official Texas Cultural Arts Districts, is a treat for travelers any day of the week: strolling the streets, you’ll find an eclectic blend of casual and fine restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, and many mom-and-pop shops. But if we had to pick just one day each month to explore, it would definitely be First Friday. Next scheduled for December 1, First Fridays revs up family-friendly fun by bringing in an assortment of musicians, artists, artisans, and various street performers to entertain you. This is a day for every resident and visitor to relax, come together, and feel welcome, which means solicitations and political activities are not permitted during the event. Every day is a great one here in Bryan, but First Fridays are something extra special. We hope to see you there.
