A Presidential Legacy

April 04, 2017

The eldest living President of United States, George Herbert Walker Bush is probably as well known today for his colorful sock collection as for his tenure as POTUS 41. Of course, there’s far more to the life of this fascinating man than either his sartorial choices or even what he accomplished during his Oval Office years. Located less than 10 minutes from our hotel, the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum affords visitors the opportunity to see what shaped the life of Mr. Bush, from his years as a WWII naval pilot, to his studies at Yale University, to his rise through political and diplomatic ranks as Congressman, Ambassador to the UN, Director of the CIA, Vice-President, and President of the United States. Through numerous artifacts—including film, photos, music, chunks of the Berlin Wall, and life-size recreations of Bush’s Camp David and Situation Room—the museum provides a stunning glimpse into not simply the life of a man, but seven decades of US and world history.
